I picked up a few things at MAC while I was at the mall this evening, including three of their new Pro Longwear Lipcreme lipsticks in Perpetual Flame, Love Forever!, and Till Tomorrow. Perpetual Flame is a vibrant fuchsia raspberry shade, Love Forever! is a bright cool-toned fuchsia pink, and Till Tomorrow is a muted mauve-nude with a touch of pink. I've been meaning to try these out for a while, but I never got around to buying them until today. They go on opaque and creamy without being too heavy, and they're comfortable to wear for a long-wearing lipstick. They initially have a glossiness to them, but it will fade after a couple of hours, and the resulting finish is more like a satin one.
I do recommend wearing lip balm under these, especially if you have really dry lips like mine. While they're not drying for a long-wearing lipstick, they're still slightly drying after a while. Moreover, they end up looking more like a stain, so they tend to accentuate dry lips more. There are some gorgeous shades in this line, though, so it's worth checking out even if you don't like long-wearing lipsticks.
