A view of Midtown Manhattan after sunset

My brother's new apartment has some incredible views and it would've been churlish not to take some photos, you know?

Painting the Sky: Summer Edition

on
Friday, October 7, 2022
So over the summer, I would take a photo of the sky if I thought it was particularly beautiful or interesting, and I somehow accumulated quite a lot of them. Now that fall is in full swing, I thought I'd share some of these.

The sunset after the blizzard

There was a pretty crazy blizzard today. We've gotten over 30cm of snow, schools and government services are shut down, highways are closed, and people have been stuck in traffic for hours. But at least the sunset was pretty.

Not gonna lie, having to wake up at 5:00AM after a long weekend really fucking sucks, but the sunrise this morning was so pretty that it almost made up for only getting two hours of sleep. (But T-minus 7 days until I start working 4:00PM to midnight! Everyone else hates this shift, but my nocturnal self is celebrating.)

Waking up at 5:30AM every day is, quite frankly, a torture. But at least I get to enjoy the blue hour every morning.

Whereas I had to wake up way before the sun rose yesterday, I actually woke up at the ass crack of dawn this morning to go to work because of these fucking holiday hours that are the bane of my existence (and Reason #381 for My Resignation). On the bright side (no pun intended), I got to catch the sunrise and it was stunning. Unfortunately, it's Sunday, and I still have to go to work (Reason #92 for My Resignation).
