Here's what was included in my LINE FRIENDS BOX this month:

LINE FRIENDS Cony Pink Travel Pouch
LINE FRIENDS Empty Travel Bottles

LINE FRIENDS Pangyo A5 File Folder
LINE FRIENDS Brown & Cony 'Watching You' Home Deco Sticker
LINE FRIENDS Brown Weekly Planner
LINE FRIENDS Sally Melamine Plate

BT21 Tata Clear Deco Sticker
BT21 Shooky Gel Pen
BT21 Cooky Phone Cradle
BT21 Koya Luggage Tag

My top choices from this box are the Cony travel pouch, the Cooky phone cradle, and the Brown weekly planner. Of course, I already have the Cooky phone cradle (which I took off the base to turn into a figure for display), but at least I have an extra one that I can actually use for its original purpose. The Pangyo folder file and the Shooky gel pen are also useful items for me (although I already have dozens of pens at home... what's one more, right?). But where was the Cony travel pouch and empty travel bottles and the Koya luggage tag when I was actually, you know, traveling? I'm sure I'll make use of them next time I travel, but given that I only really go anywhere once a year, I'll have to make sure I don't lose them somewhere before I travel again. The duds in this box are the plate (hi, I'm not a three-year-old that eats off a plastic plate featuring a cartoon duck) and the stickers. I've legit received deco stickers in every single box, and while they're cute, they're also not very useful to me. (I think stickers are to these boxes like single-piece chewing gums are to snack boxes.) Having received four Line Friends boxes now, I will say that there have been more items that I won't use than items I will use. It's been fun and cute, but I really doubt that I'll renew my subscription after this one is done.

Photolog 2019: Day 151 of 365

on
Back in April, Line Friends Box was offering BT21 character sets as a one-time-only offer (as opposed to their subscription box program, of which I am already a subscriber). They had three different sets for each character, each set including a different amount of products for different price points. Set A is the small box, Set B is the big box, and Set C is both A and B together in one box. All sets are mystery boxes, so you won't know what's included until you open them. I was actually too late for the initial run because all the sets for all characters were sold out within a couple hours, but they announced a second run the next day, so I hastily decided to get Set C for both Chimmy and Cooky and managed to get their Early Bird Sale price ($59.95 instead of $69.98). My boxes finally arrived today, and here's what I got in each of them:

Overall, I thought both sets were good value since two items from each box were already valued at over $60, and there was a good variety of products for each set, but unfortunately for me, I already own some of the items, including the Chimmy 30cm plush as well as the Cooky Plush Bag Charm. (This is the peril of getting mystery boxes, I suppose.) I'm also not sure what I'm going to do with two pencil cases since, you know, I'm not a student, or the stickers since I have nowhere to stick them, or the balloon because I don't have a helium tank... But I will use everything else, especially that Cooky seat cushion because I had already been thinking about getting one to use as a back cushion for my computer chair. The tote bags will also come in handy when I'm shopping so I don't have to get plastic bags, and the PP folder is great because I have documents that need a home (I have a Cooky PP folder that Jaewon gifted me last year with one of my orders, but it's already full of papers). But as cute as these boxes are, I don't think I'll order them again in the future. I already own a lot of BT21 products and I'd just like to get exactly what I want so I know I'll have a use for them and also so I won't be stuck with doubles of anything.

LINE FRIENDS BOX: April 2019

My April LINE FRIENDS BOX actually arrived like, a week ago, but I hadn't gotten around to opening it until today. I wasn't really expecting much in this box after being so disappointed with last month's, but was pleasantly surprised at what I found.

BT21 Tata Tin Case Jigsaw Puzzle

My top choices from this box are the Choco Doughnut Silicone Cup Cover (I always keep a cup of water for myself in the kitchen and lid covers are always handy to keep my drink from getting dusty), the Cony Silicone Sleeve Ice Tumbler (so handy to keep iced drinks in, especially since I bring my own iced coffee to work), and the BT21 Tata Tin Case Jigsaw Puzzle (you get a cute puzzle to complete and a collector's tin). I actually quite like everything that came in this box; like the pen and the mouse pad and the luggage tag are all items that I will use. I only have one real dud from this box, which is the Sally Hair Tie, but only because I don't use plushie hair ties. I'll probably give that to my little sister when I see her next. My only complaint here again is that there should've been more BT21 products included. BT21 characters take up about half of their entire character line-up and is also their most popular collection of characters, so it only makes sense that they should have more than three items out of 10 in each box. I've also received those clear deco stickers in every single box, and while they're cute, they're also not very useful to me. (I think stickers are to these boxes like single-piece chewing gums are to snack boxes.) Overall, though, I'm pretty pleased with the selection in this month's box; it's far more in line with what I expected from this subscription.

My LINE FRIENDS BOX was delivered today! Being so pleased with last month's, I was really looking forward to receiving this month's edition.

Here's what was included in my LINE FRIENDS BOX this month:

Article Image
LINE FRIENDS Choco Check Dress Bag Charm, BT21 BT21 Cooky Plush Face Key Ring, and LINE FRIENDS Cony Figure

Article Image
LINE FRIENDS Piggy Brown Character Tray Set and Sally Picnic Cup Set

Article Image
LINE FRIENDS Sally Letter Stationery Set, BT21 Color Twinpen Set, BT21 RJ Clear Deco Sticker, LINE FRIENDS Brown and Cony Character Stickers, and LINE FRIENDS Choco Travel Pouch

My top choices from this box are the BT21 Cooky Plush Face Key Ring (really cute and not overly big to use as a keychain, plus Cooky is one of two of my favourite BT21 characters so I'm obviously biased) and the BT21 Color Twinpen Set (they're writing utensils, and thus useful to me). My duds from this box are the Sally Picnic Cup Set (they look like they're for toddlers), the Character Stickers (what the hell am I gonna do with these?), and the Choco Travel Pouch (it looks cheap). There's a really fine line between cute collectibles and children's items, and I think the people who curate these boxes have forgotten that the majority of people who subscribe to this program are actual full-grown adults. Moreover, most of these items are actually pretty useless to me or just too ostentatious. Like, that little teddy bear in a dress? It's cute as a plush toy, but it's actually meant to be a bag charm. Sorry, but I am not a school girl about to put a full blown plush toy as an accessory for my bag. Or that tray set? It's really cute, but I'm not serving food to a five-year-old. I had really high hopes for this box, but I was actually pretty disappointed, especially compared to the first box I got. I mean, with subscription boxes, you win some and you lose some, but here's hoping that April will be better.

LINE FRIENDS BOX: February 2019

on
Wednesday, March 6, 2019
Last December, an online ARMY friend of mine working for Fever Guys introduced me to their latest project, LINE FRIENDS BOX. It's a new monthly subscription box program featuring official LINE FRIENDS and BT21 merch that officially launched in February. As someone who already collects the majority of BT21 products, I was pretty much on-board immediately.

I signed up for the Early Bird 6-month prepay special, so my boxes are $49.50 a month instead of $59.99, but each one is filled with at least $120 worth of products so it's always a good value. It's a really fun program, especially since us Canadians don't have easy access to LINE FRIENDS or BT21 products offline. Here's what was in my first ever LINE FRIENDS BOX:

BT21 Koya Clear Deco StickerMang Plush Hand Mirror, Tata Bag Charm

LINE FRIENDS Sally Large Cosmetics Pouch, Sally Silicone Cup Coaster, Pangyo Face Wash Headband

Article Image
LINE FRIENDS Brown Hair Pin and Brown Coin Bank

My top choices from this box are the Mang Plush Hand Mirror, Sally Large Cosmetics Pouch, and the Pangyo Face Wash Headband (I've been wanting to get one of these for a while because my hair gets everywhere, even when it's tied up — and this one is so cute. Who doesn't want to look like a startled panda when washing up?). My dud from this box would have to be the Brown Hair Pin. Not because it's not cute, but because I won't use it and it'll just sit in my room being wasted. I'll probably give it to my little sister when I see her again. But, overall, super pleased with my first ever LINE FRIENDS BOX!
