BANGBANGCON IS BACK! This time, they're going to be streaming 5th Muster Magic Shop and Muster Sowoozoo back-to-back starting at 11:00PM EDT tonight, and then Map of the Soul ON:E a couple hours later (7:00AM EDT is way too early for me on a Saturday, but I already own the VOD so it's not a big deal for me to skip it). Technically, I own all of these on DVD so I can watch them anytime, but there's just something about ARMYs all over the world live streaming at the same time that makes them hit differently. If you've never watched these before or if you missed out on buying the boxsets or if you simply just wanna stream with ARMYs globally to join in on the fun, now's your chance!

Unboxing: BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo Digital Code Box Set

My BTS 2021 Muster Soowoozoo box set arrived this week! Sowoozoo or “소우주” is the Korean word for "Mikrokosmos," which is both a song from BTS' 2019 EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, as well as the theme of the 2021 Muster. BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo was a two-day pay-per-view online streaming event. They were untact concerts held in Seoul on June 13 and 14, 2021, in honour of their 8th anniversary. The Soowoozoo box set comes in three different types: DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Code. The actual concert footage and making films are the same across all three types but are just presented in different formats. For the sake of not having to use an external drive, I decided on the Digital Code set, which is a new format that was introduced with Season’s Greetings 2022. The DVD set is $41.80 USD, and both the Blu-ray and Digital Code sets are $53.88 USD each (plus shipping) from Weverse Shop.

The BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo Digital Code box set is packaged in a holographic purple outbox with a clear plastic sleeve. It comes with the following contents: a 156-page photobook, a digital code card, a set of 7 member hologram postcards, a DIY photo stand, and a randomized member photo card. Because this is the Digital Code set, it does not come with a Digipak of discs like the DVD or Blu-ray sets. Instead, there is a QR code on a card that will lead you to a registration page when scanned. After you register your box set, it will lead you to the page for video streaming all of the concert footage and making films. As long as your Digital Code box set is registered, you can access the footage at any time from your Weverse account on your phone, tablet, or computer.

There are slight variances between the three set types, with the most obvious one being that the DVD and Blu-ray sets come with Digipaks of discs and the Digital Code set doesn't. Moreover, both the DVD and Digital Code sets come with a photo stand, but the Blu-ray set doesn't. Finally, the DVD and Digital Code sets come with the hologram postcard set, whereas the Blu-ray set comes with a different 4"x 6" photo set. Weirdly enough, the Blu-ray set and the Digital Code set are the same price, but the DVD set is cheaper. At the end of the day, the DVD set has the most value (it has the exact same contents as the Digital Code set but is $12 USD cheaper), but if you're like me and you don't have a television or you don't want to use an external drive on your computer, the Digital Code is the most convenient to use.

BTS 2021 Muster Sowoozoo: "Chicken Noodle Soup"

OT7 "Chicken Noodle Soup"!!! I will forever be impressed with Namjoon and Jimin rapping in Spanish and Jungkook being absolutely pitch perfect for Becky G's vocal parts. I'm so glad they released this for the public because it's not going to be apart of the 2021 Muster Sowoozoo box set (which will include Day 1's set list with "Daechwita" instead of Day 2's with "Chicken Noodle Soup"). On that note, yes, I pre-ordered the box set last night and I can't wait for it to arrive so I can re-watch that concert over and over again. I am having serious BTS withdrawals since coming back from Vegas.

My 2021 Muster Sowoozoo merch arrived! I genuinely didn't think I was going to get anything from this launch judging purely from the clips on Twitter, but then all the items (and there were A LOT of items) went up for preview on Weverse Shop and then I was like, "Oh, goddamn it." Because there were at least a dozen merch releases over the past two months and I already spend half my income on BTS merch (AND THE SHIPPING, GOOD GOD) and there were at least three items I wanted. And actually buying the merch is like the fucking Hunger Games. (ARMY, y'all know what I mean.) But then, as usual, I was like, "Fuck it, YOLO!" And I managed to get everything I wanted before they sold out in 5 minutes.

Okay, so I didn't need another black shirt but, you know, I just treated this merch like tour merch because Muster was a concert after all, and if I had seen them in person, I would've bought at least two to four shirts at the merch booths (like I did for Love Yourself... and Speak Yourself...), so really, this was me having self-control, okay? (Actually, I would've bought more but the other shirts were white, and I just don't wear white.)

It just so happened that I broke three of my Ikea drinking glasses all in the span of two weeks (all from dishwashing, too — never trust Ikea glass sets that are on sale, y'all), so I needed to get some new ones. When I saw these, I was like, "Wow, what a coincidence that they should come out with a glass set for Muster!" So, obviously, it was a sign that I had to get them... (And, hey, it came with photocards!)

I just got the badge set 'cause I collect enamel pins, but the earrings were a total wild card. Normally, I skip jewelry because I can't wear it unless it's gold or platinum (my body apparently has expensive taste). But can I just say, THANK YOU, BIGHIT, for making earrings in surgical steel, the only cheap metal that I'm not allergic to! And for making these simple but cute and unisex! 

Anyway, I just hope they release this year's Muster on DVD. They've released every Muster on DVD and I would be very sad to not add this one to my collection just because it was virtual. (I'm still waiting for Map of the Soul ON:E to be released.)

Photolog 2021: Day 165 of 365

Day #8 of vacation: BTS Muster Sowoozoo Day 2!


Still no "Paradise" or "Sea" (frankly, I always hope for them but it's already been over three years and they have yet to perform either of them live, so my expectations are really low at this point), but the Day 2 highlights for me are: "Film Out" (a rarity because they never perform Japanese singles outside of Japan, but this was SO BEAUTIFUL), the OT7 version of "Chicken Noodle Soup" (RM rapping in Spanish is something I never knew I needed), Jimin's slicked back hair (y'all, the Day 1 hair gave me such flashbacks of "N.O" era, it WAS NOT GOOD), finding out Kookie's eyebrow piercing is actually real (listen, with the tattoos and the piercings, he is legit turning into the dream boy from my teenage years), and "So What" (a much-needed boost of energy when it's almost 7:00AM and you haven't gone to bed yet, but today's performance for it was particularly hype). And just like that, Muster, along with Festa, is over. Sigh, I just know the withdrawals will come soon.
