BTS V — "Sweet Night" from Itaewon Class OST (Part 12)

on

As if Itaewon Class couldn't get any better, V wrote and recorded a beautiful song for the OST, and it was released today. "Sweet Night," which is also the name of the pub featured in Itaewon Class (called DanBam), is very reflective of V's now-signature sound, as it follows a similar mellow vibe to his previous solo releases like "Scenery" and "Winter Bear," with soft dreamy vocals, acoustic guitar, background strings, and sentimental lyrics. (What can I say, our Taehyung is a softie.)

On my pillow
Can't get me tired
Sharing my fragile truth
That I still hope the door is open
'Cause the window
Opened one time with you and me
Now my forever's falling down
Wondering if you'd want me now

How could I know
One day I'd wake up feeling more
But I had already reached the shore
Guess we were ships in the night, night, night
We were ships in the night, night, night

I'm wondering
Are you my best friend
Feels like a river's rushing through my mind
I wanna ask you
If this is all just in my head
My heart is pounding tonight
I wonder

If you
Are too good to be true
And would it be alright if I
Pulled you closer
How could I know
One day I'd wake up feeling more
But I had already reached the shore
Guess we were ships in the night, night, night
We were ships in the night, night, night

Now that I've finished Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (I'm not usually a fan of historical dramas but it was actually quite good and I totally ugly-cried when Hansung died), I decided to start What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? because I really like Park Seo-joon. And my god, it took them eight episodes to finally fucking kiss. WHAT IS WITH THE DELAYED GRATIFICATION IN K-DRAMAS?

Everyone told me not to get into K-dramas because I would never leave my house. And I totally listened to them... until today. So now I'm on Episode 11 of Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. I decided to start with this because V is in it and, you know, I'm nothing if not dedicated to BTS and all their endeavours. But, as everyone warned me, it is actually very addictive and, um, I've now watched over ten hours of television today. I unsubscribed from Netflix last January and haven't watched a single television show for nearly a year, but leave it to K-dramas to suck me back in.
