Stovetop pastitsio-inspired fusilli with Greek-style bechamel sauce

I inadvertently made the most delicious pasta this evening. I had decided to cook the stovetop pastitsio-inspired fusilli kit from Hello Fresh, and this recipe calls for cinnamon, of all things. (If I've ever had cinnamon in my pasta before, I definitely don't know about it.) Except I accidentally added like, five times the amount and I was like, "Oh fuck, this is gonna taste weird." So then I added four cloves of crushed garlic because, you know, garlic makes all pasta dishes taste better. But the extra cinnamon ended up making it SO DAMN TASTY. It adds this warm, spiced aroma that works so beautifully with the garlic and tomatoes and creamy "bechamel" sauce. The happiest accident I've ever made in the kitchen.

Best part of going grocery shopping with my mom is that she'll buy me dinner. 😁 I was hardcore craving Greek food today, so we got takeout from Greek Stop this evening: Gyros combos with extra tzatziki and hot sauce. 🤤🤤🤤 I'll have dragon breath for days, but it was totally worth it.

Been so busy unpacking, organizing, getting more stuff from the old house, loading, and unloading that I barely have time to do anything else. Looking for a quick lunch, I was hit by a sudden craving for shawarma, so I went to Greek Stop and got myself the chicken shawarma with rice, potatoes, and Greek salad (with extra tzatziki and hot sauce, obviously). Eating this lunch platter is, by far, going to be the best 20 minutes of my day.

Got chicken souvlaki (with extra hot sauce) from Jimmy the Greek tonight 'cause I'm too lazy to make dinner. But I will say, I transferred everything from the takeout container to a real plate, so THERE WAS EFFORT INVOLVED, OKAY?
