on
Saturday, May 18, 2024
Seven of us went over to Minji and Daniel's house for edibles, hot pot, and playing Betrayal until 3:00AM.

And we got enough food to bring home for the next three meals because we bought enough groceries for a small army.

An excellent start to the long weekend!

Pistachio, coffee, and coconut banana gelato

Went over to Chelsea and Braden's for dinner and had our first BBQ of the year! On the menu: Grilled cheeseburgers made with beef and mushroom patties, potato wedges, and garden salad. The burgers were so good, I had two. (Almost three, but you know, "self-control" is my middle name.) Then we took a walk after dinner with Chelsea's dog and went over to Chocolate & Company to get some gelato for dessert. I had decided on a two-flavour cup of pistachio and coffee, and then I saw that they had coconut banana and I said aloud, "Aw man, will I regret not trying it?" Then the girl behind the counter said, "It's one of my favourite flavours and I'm not even a banana fan. Do you want to try some?" And I nodded. So she ended up putting an extra half scoop of coconut banana gelato in my cup. And for the next 15 minutes it took me to eat my gelato, that girl was my favourite person in the world.

Happy Victoria Day!

Ying bought freshly baked apple crumble pie and house-made vanilla ice cream from The Village Grocer for the long weekend so she invited me over. I'll take dessert over fireworks any day. 🥰🤤🍎🥧🍨

Victoria Day Fireworks

Victoria Day means fireworks time! As a result of testing out continuous shooting on my camera, I ended up with a ton of pictures, so I made half of them into animated photos. (Warning: You may get seizures.)

Post-fireworks meal at Johnny's: epic charbroiled cheeseburgers, perfect crispy fries, and delightful vanilla shakes. Victoria Day might very well be my favourite holiday.

I just couldn't get into "Roman candle tag" (yes, shooting Roman candles at each other) for fear of getting set on fire, so I took pictures of it instead. That last picture reminds me of lightsabers.
