How did I spend my extra hour yesterday? Painting my nails, obviously. I decided upon the second shade I picked up from Butter London's Holiday collection: Tart With A Heart. It's a clear light greyed pink jelly base with light multi-coloured glitter. Okay, first off, this was definitely meant to be a polish you put on top of another shade, like MAC's Unconditionally Fabulous or China Glaze's Snow Globe. On its own, it takes about five thick coats to get it opaque. Don't get me wrong, the result is definitely pretty; it's especially great for those who typically like nude nails and want to bling it up. It's like... the nude of the glitter world. But it takes way too much work to get it there. (Good thing I had an hour, right?) I recommend layering Tart With A Heart on top of a nice pale pink or nude, instead. Butter London's Teddy Girl would be lovely, or their third Holiday shade, Fairy Lights, which I didn't get but I imagine would look beautiful as well.
This looks like an awesome glitter to layer over! The possibilities are endless. :D

Haha, time to do your nails, Liz! I think the last time I went out in public without nail polish was like... six years ago... :P
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice glitter, for sure, and awesome for layering, but maybe not worth $17... I'm sure you can find something equally nice, if not better, for cheaper!
