Survey Says...

This week's Survey Says... from Temptalia:

1. Favourite online beauty retailer? MAC Online for all of my MAC needs (obviously), Sephora for most other make-up and skincare brands, Spa Boutique and Nail Polish Canada for salon/spa brand nail polishes, and Harlow & Co. for hard-to-find nail brands.
2. Favourite in-store beauty retailer? MAC, Sephora, Murale, Shoppers Drug Mart, The Bay, Holt Renfrew, Lush, and Trade Secrets. They all have specific products, colours, or brands, so obviously, I can't just pick one!
3. Online or in-store? Honestly, I like both. Online is obviously much more convenient, and I find that they always carry more stock, whereas a lot of counters or stores can be sold out of a certain shade/product. And there are so many product reviews and swatch pictures available online now that you can get a pretty good idea of any given product. But shopping online also has shipping fees (or a minimum purchase amount to get free shipping), and to a lesser extent, duty fees. And, of course, you can't actually touch the product. But when I browse in-store, I can feel, smell, and swatch product. I can actually get the full experience of the store or counter or whatever. And I can talk to a real person (which can be good or bad, actually) and ask questions. And instant gratification! So it's really split for me. And it also depends on if I know exactly what I want, or if I am just curious about a product.
