This past Thursday, MAC released a new collection in stores called All About Orange, which is inspired by the orange colour trend in Korea and "its vibrant energy and modern edge [that] ignites fashion and beauty big time throughout the world. It's one of the new global super-shades that pops with sizzle and cool sophistication." All About Orange consists of 18 products, and sees the release of seven shades of Lipstick — four of which are new and limited edition, and three of which are re-promotes. Each lipstick comes in regular black packaging, contains 3 grams of product, and retails for $18. These are applicable for the Back to MAC recycling program.
Flamingo, Neon Orange, Razzledazzler, and Sushi Kiss
Flamingo, Neon Orange, Razzledazzler, and Sushi Kiss
Flamingo is a light-medium warm coral-pink in a Lustre finish. This is a re-promoted shade from last year's Iris Apfel collection, and is limited edition. The texture is soft and creamy, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is more coral than Lovelorn, slightly darker and more pink than Coral Bliss, and lighter and less pink than Sunny Seoul.
Neon Orange is a medium vibrant orange with red undertones in an Amplified finish. This is a permanent shade at PRO stores, and is a re-promote at all other locations. The texture is soft and creamy, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is very similar to Morange and Good to Go Pro Longwear Lipcreme, and less red than Lady Danger.
Razzledazzler is a light-medium warm peach-coral in a Lustre finish. This is a re-promoted shade from 2007's Raquel Welch collection, and is limited edition. The texture is soft and creamy, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque to opaque buildable colour pay-off. It is slightly lighter than Coral Bliss, lighter than Ravishing, and less bright and less orange than Style Surge Mineralize Rich Lipstick.
Sushi Kiss is a light-medium orange-peach in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft and creamy, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is lighter and less pinked than Ravishing, more peach than Gotta Dash! Sheen Supreme Lipstick, and lighter and more orange than Style Surge Mineralize Rich Lipstick.
Calling all fans of orange/peach/coral lipsticks! MAC has another seven options for you to drool over, just in time for summer. Flamingo is going to be incredibly coveted if its popularity during its original release with last year's Iris Apfel collection is any indication. It is also by far the most pink-toned of the seven, so it will not only appeal to the orange/peach/coral fans, but also the pink fans, so I think it'll be the first one to sell out. For those who missed out on Razzledazzler during last year's Fashion Sets collection (it was an Asia exclusive shade, but was available online in North America), here's your chance to pick it up in store. Sushi Kiss is a lovely peach shade in the tube, but there's a slight yellow undertone to it that can make many complexions look sallow, so I advise trying it on first. For those who want Neon Orange but don't live near a PRO store, here's your chance to pick it up in stores now. However, if you have Morange, you can definitely skip on Neon Orange, as they're virtually the same shade and in the same finish, too.
LOL! If you don't have Morange, it's worth checking out Neon Orange! But if you don't wanna go all the way to the PRO store on Queen, you can always get Morange at any MAC location. They're pretty much the same shade. :P
Oh Neon Orange/Morange. I have conquered you yet still I don't give you enough love. Why, I ask myself?! I think I'm waiting for that perfect sunny day that isn't at the office...or not. Who the heck knows why I hold out on fabulous shades like those?!
*Ahem* In any case, I really loved the way all 7 lippies looked (well...maybe not Tangerine Dream) but they were for the most part too pale for my skintone. Story of my life!
LOL, you should definitely wear Morange more often! I think it looks great on your skintone! Lady Danger also looks spectacular -- it's more of a red-orange, but unnghhh, sooo stunning!!!
I find that orange is a very fickle colour, but there's always an orange for everyone, lol. I agree that a lot of these lipsticks are more flattering on fairer skintones (they were created for the East Asian market, after all). But, you know, Tangerine Dream looks surprisingly good on darker skintones, like a nice orangey glaze... ;)
Sushi Kiss is really quite milky, so I find that it doesn't flatter a lot of people... It's definitely one of those shades that you should try on before buying, lol. I prefer the look of Style Surge Mineralize Rich Lipstick myself. Sweet & Sour is a lovely coral nude, though. :)
Neon Orange is way brighter and more orange-red than Vegas Volt, which is more of a bright coral. Neon Orange and Morange are twins, though, so next time you're at MAC, try swatching Morange. :)

Neon Orange excites and scares me at the same time. I think that means I need it at some point in my life. Meh on the rest!

Sushi Kiss looks like the perfect Coral nude.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm totally digging Neon Orange. Reminds me of Vegas Volt. How does it compare to to VV?
Gahhh so much pretty. Mind. Is. Exploding..
