Today, MAC released a new collection in stores called All About Orange, which is inspired by the orange colour trend in Korea and "its vibrant energy and modern edge [that] ignites fashion and beauty big time throughout the world. It's one of the new global super-shades that pops with sizzle and cool sophistication." All About Orange consists of 18 products, and sees the release of three shades of Powder Blush, two of which are new and limited edition and one of which is a re-promote. Each blush comes in regular black packaging, contains 6 grams of product, and retails for $25.
Clockwise from bottom left: Honey Jasmine, Immortal Flower, and Royal Sunset
Honey Jasmine, Immortal Flower, and Royal Sunset
Honey Jasmine is a medium brightened cantaloupe orange with a subtle sheen in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft, silky, and finely-milled, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. There is nothing similar in MAC's permanent range; it is darker than Peaches, and less brown and much brighter than Cantaloupe (PRO).
Immortal Flower is a light-medium brightened peach-coral with a subtle sheen in a Satin finish. This is a re-promoted shade from last year's Très Cheek collection, and is limited edition. The texture is soft, silky, and finely-milled, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more pinked than Peaches, and brighter and more coral than Melba.
Royal Sunset is a light-medium brightened cool-toned coral-pink with a subtle sheen in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft, silky, and finely-milled, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is less pink than Pinch O' Peach, and lighter and more coral than Pink Swoon.
Even though this collection is called All About Orange, only Honey Jasmine is truly orange in colour; the other two shades are definitely more in the coral family, which make them more wearable across various undertones. All three shades have smooth, finely-milled textures and apply beautifully. While Royal Sunset and Immortal Flower look much lighter in swatches and in their pans, they do sit significantly darker on the face. If you see these blushes in person and think they might be too light for you, I urge you to try it on your actual face and not on your hand. I found all three shades to work well on fair to medium-dark skintones, though Royal Sunset and Immortal Flower will start to look ashy on dark to deep-dark skintones. What I love about these blushes is that MAC (surprisingly) doesn't really have any great dupes in their permanent collection, which is what makes these must-haves for me. Plus, these are just generally super-fun, cute shades — they just seem to make everyone look healthier, happier, and younger.
Oh no :) You just convinced me to hunt for Honey Jasmine especially with the last phrase "they just seem to make everyone look healthier, happier, and younger". Just what I need!
I think the collection is coming here to Norway soon. Will keep a look out for this blush for sure.
Thank you for the swatches and have a great weekend.
And, agreed, I loooove these blushes. There's just something about coral and peach blushes that gets me every time... Like, I love all blushes, but these types of shades are just like catnip for me. :P
I am truly over the orange blush thing because while they're all really pretty, I'm not gravitating towards these at all! Honey Jasmine seems to be really popular with the masses right now.
LOL, we've been over this, Liz! You get obsessed with one type of shade in one type of product and go crazy with it and then get super sick of it... It's like Top 40s songs -- you're overplaying it! :P
Honey Jasmine is definitely the most unique of the three -- orange blush is having its moment (or, rather, season)!
Honey Jasmine looks a lot more orange - and hence, a lot more appealing to me - in your swatches here than I've seen in other swatches. I'm cursing myself a bit now for being so LAME about this whole release, I was going to go to the store to check it all out the day it was released, but told myself there was nothing I really *wanted*. Clearly, I never learn/am an idiot. LOL
LOL!!! I find that with MAC LE launches, you gotta make your mind fast 'cause they sell out so quickly. :P
Honey Jasmine is like, pure tangerine. I rarely ever trust online swatches because monitors often don't show colours the way they show up in real life. I just looked up Honey Jasmine through Google, and on one beauty blog, it looks like... light peach. I assure you, though, there's nothing light or peach about it. It is BRIGHT ORANGE. ROAR.
