Sunday Video Love: Blood Sweat & Tears

I don't know what has happened to me over the last month, but I have since become completely obsessed with BTS. I was that person who was like, "Ew, K-Pop? Really? But you don't even understand what they're saying." I was a total K-Pop naysayer (and really quite judgemental about it). But as if karma has come to bite me in the ass, I am now so entirely immersed in this group — their music, their aesthetic, their stories, their backgrounds — that I have lost sleep because I cannot stop watching videos about them on YouTube. This obsession is actually comparable to the one I had in Grade 6 with Backstreet Boys. Except I'm 31 and I don't understand a damn word they're saying. And what's especially funny is that I don't generally listen to the genres that they employ — hip hop, R&B, EDM, electronica. Like, if this were a North American boy band and sung in English (you know, the language I'm actually fluent in), I'd probably write them off. But their energy, their choreography, their creativity — pretty much everything about them — is just more than any other group. And it's not just in their videos; their actual music is too catchy to handle. I have downloaded the majority of their discography and it's all I listen to in the car, in the shower, on breaks at work, while making dinner, while doing laundry... I catch myself humming one of their songs the moment I wake up. Also, they are so fucking pretty that I simultaneously want to be them and be with them. This is all very, very alarming.
