Friday Five: Waste

This week's Friday Five:

1. What's something you unintentionally threw away? A receipt. But I knew it was unintentional because I wanted to return the item about a week later, realizing I didn't actually need it, but couldn't find the receipt anywhere.
   
   
2. What disgusting memory of garbage do you have? In 2002, we had a garbage strike in Toronto in the middle of summer. It got to like, 40°C with stifling humidity on some of those days. Can you imagine that smell? The whole city just reeked of hot, wet garbage. I remember walking by an open bag of garbage filled with maggots upon maggots...
   
   
3. How are you about deleting emails? Really good. I delete emails I don't need the moment after I go through them.
   
   
4. What do you treasure that someone else considers trash? Hmm... concert ticket stubs. I've kept all of mine (except for the more recent e-tickets). I think the oldest one I kept is from the Matthew Good Band and Moist concert at Air Canada Centre in December 1999.
   
   
5. What's the litter like in your neighbourhood? Non-existent. I live in a condo townhouse, so we have maintenance staff that keep all common areas clean and litter-free. Also, the people that live in my neighbourhood are super anal about garbage in general.
