Hwe dup bap
I've been craving sushi for the past week, so I made dinner plans with my mom at
Gal's Sushi this evening. I was set to get a nigiri/sashimi bento box or
chirashi, but when I saw that they have
hwe dup bap, I was sold. If you've never had
hwe dup bap, it has sashimi and rice in a bowl like
chirashi, but also includes random vegetables, usually leafy greens, cucumbers, and
nori, and — most importantly — is mixed with sesame oil and
chogochujang. I also add some soy sauce in mine and the combination is DIVINE. I often forget that Gal's Sushi also has a huge variety of Korean food on their menu, maybe because I get so focused on the Japanese items, but I'm glad I kept perusing today. The
hwe dup bap here is delicious and fresh and comes in a surprisingly big portion. Not as fancy as
Mi-Ne, but it's honestly just as tasty and has better value.
