Had a delectably delicious birthday dinner at NextDoor with my friend Carmen this evening:
Fried Brie Sando: Double cream brie, truffle mushroom duxelle, dijon aioli, and truffle honey on shokupan milk bread
Lamb Saddle: Lamb bacon, sunchoke purée, roasted sunchokes, edamame beans, lamb demi, and charred red leaf lettuce
Olive & Rosemary: Poached pear, rosemary crumble, olive oil ice cream, charcoal maldon salt, and honey olive tuile
Yuzu Chocolate Tart: Yuzu chocolate ganache, dark chocolate crust, yuzu mousse, sake & toasted rice ice cream, miso caramel, and chocolate crumble
Wow, wow, wow. I don't know why it took so long for me to try the dinner menu here, but it is impeccable; harmonious flavour combinations, delightful textures and mouthfeels, and fantastic fusion execution. Almost made me forget that I'm turning 30 for the 6th time. (25 for the 11th time?)
