Okay, after Jungkook's fried chicken livestream yesterday and watching BTS Yet to Come in Cinemas this afternoon, Iris and I were determined to get some Korean fried chicken for dinner tonight. So we headed over to Mr. ChiMaek.

I hadn't been here since before the pandemic (in fact, this was my last meal out before the pandemic was announced in March 2020), but I'm happy to report that they're still as good as ever. We decided to get the carbonara tteokbokki and the half and half chicken — Original and Garlic & Soy Sauce. The chicken there is always reliably delicious, but the carbonara tteokbokki is a game-changer. I love regular tteokbokki, of course, but man, that carbonara sauce is creamy and savoury with just a hint of spice from the chili flakes, and ridiculously addictive. And it makes an amazing dipping sauce for the Original fried chicken. There are tons of new Korean fried chicken places around now, but Mr. ChiMaek is one of the originals around here and still one of my faves. (And 3 BTS songs played while we were there, so that's always a win.)
