I caved and bought the two new Extra Dimension face kits from MAC's holiday collection. I absolutely, 100% did not need any more cheek products (or, quite frankly, any type of makeup), but THEY WERE TOO PRETTY TO RESIST, OKAY? There are STARS. And GLITTER.

MAC x Pony Park Collection

MAC x Pony Park Collection

Just picked up a bunch of stuff from the MAC Pony Park collection because it is, hands down, one of the best collections to come out from any brand this year. Everything about this collection is on point — the packaging, the colours, the formulas, the range of products — and most importantly, wearable. If you don't know who Pony Park is, her real name is Park Hyemin, and she's a South Korean makeup artist and beauty influencer (who is, quite frankly, gorgeous) that gained international popularity for her insane makeup transformation videos, but is mostly known for her K-beauty tutorials. And she's brought those K-beauty trends into her collaboration with MAC, in beautiful black and metallic rose gold packaging inspired by tarot cards.

First things first, I picked up both of the iridescent Extra Dimension Skinfinish highlighters in Sky's the Limit and Cold Comfort. Y'all know I'm already a sucker for highlighters in general, but I legit want to bathe in these, especially the gold one. What sets these apart from the regular Extra Dimension Skinfinishes is the iridescent finish; Sky's the Limit shifts from a light champagne gold to a peachy gold, and Cold Comfort shifts from a pale icy pink to a lavender lilac. They are stunning. And the sun and star designs engraved into the actual powders add a really nice touch.

The next must-have for me was the Hocus Pocus Eyeshadow x 8 Palette. There haven't been any palettes from any brand in the past year that have really intrigued me (at least, enough to pay for), but these colours are literally my go-to shades (basically warm, rosy neutrals) with an excellent variety in finishes (sparkly vs. matte) and tones (lights, mid-tones, and darks) — by far the most wearable and comprehensive eyeshadow palette MAC has come out with this year, whether you're going for a K-beauty look or not.

Then, surprising even myself, I ended up getting five of the new Matte Lip Mousses. I actually thought these were going to be a write-off for me because I hate liquid lipstick in general — but these are ultra-smooth, cushiony, lightweight, and not drying at all. They leave just the right amount of colour on the lips so that you can have that blurred, stained look that K-beauty is known for, or you can add more for a saturated lip look. I just hope they make this formula permanent and add more shades. Right now, I'm either into nudes or a faded bright colour that looks like a stain (blame it on all the K-dramas I watch), and these fit the bill perfectly. They're like the cream version of the Powder Kiss Lipsticks, and they're delightful.

MAC x Pony Park Prep + Prime Fix+

Finally, I got the Pony Park Fix+ finishing mist. I'm not normally into setting sprays with any sort of colour or finish, but this one has a very subtle pink-lilac iridescent pearl that almost doesn't look like anything on the skin but somehow magically makes foundation have that sort of ethereal, "glass skin" effect that I am trying very hard to emulate.

Got myself several of the new MAC Love Me Lipsticks in Laissez-Faire, Très Blasé, As If I Care, and Hey, Frenchie!. Because I'm having a shitty day and I wanted a treat that wasn't food.

I caved and bought a bunch of stuff from MAC's summer collection, Electric Wonder. They were too pretty to pass up. MAC is on fire this year with the colours and packaging. This year's summer collection features a gorgeous white, lilac, and grey marbling with gold accents, and it might honestly be the nicest packaging I've seen so far over the past few years. Also, MAC finally released a face palette! I hope they'll release palettes like these permanently. Honestly, it's about time.

MAC's Aladdin collection launched today and I had to. MAC has done quite a few collections with Disney now, like Venomous Villains (2010), Maleficent (2014), and Cinderella (2015), but I think this one takes the cake in terms of packaging and wearability. I didn't need any of these, but the MAC collector in me jumped out and the nostalgia of Aladdin washed over me (the original animated film was the first movie I ever watched in theatres), and I had to get my hands on them.

MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Sultry Move and Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bait

Having been on sick leave, I hadn't checked out any of MAC's new releases since their spring collection in early March. They brought out a ton of new things, and I picked out some stand-outs, including four of the new eyeshadows and both highlighters from the Get Blazed collection, four new nude lipsticks (three from the Strip Down collection and one of the new Powder Kiss shades that I recycled for), plus a new tube of my old-school favourite Cremesheen Glass in Boy Bait (I've recently gotten back into gloss).

MAC's spring collection, Boom Boom Bloom, was released today and it is stunning. I haven't been excited about a MAC collection in a long, long time, but this has got to be one of the nicest collections to come out in the last couple years. Just from a purely aesthetic point of view, MAC really exceeded expectations; the white background with the pink cherry blossom petals floating throughout celebrates femininity and the change of seasons so perfectly, but they didn't go the delicate, saccharine, pastel route that we tend to see everywhere this time of year.

MAC Boom Boom Bloom High-Light Powder in Spring Bling

My picks from Boom Boom Bloom are the new cherry blossom-scented Fix+, the Eyeshadow x 9 Palette in Kabuki Doll, and both High-Light Powders in Fleur Real and Spring Bling. The star product of the entire collection is, of course, the Fleur Real High-Light Powder, which has the most beautiful ombre shading I have ever seen on a piece of makeup. It looks like pure art, which almost makes the fact that it's an overlay forgivable. Now, the only problem is, can I actually bring myself to use them?

Got all the new MAC Art Library eyeshadow palettes today, and they are stunning. All the formulas have been re-vamped and they apply and blend out so beautifully. Flame-boyant in particular goes on like magic. Might even be one of my fave palettes of all time. Well done, MAC!

Got some goodies at MAC today. The MAC in Monochrome collection came out yesterday and I actually really like the colours, so I recycled for the four eyeshadows in Soft Teddy, Dear Teddy, See the Future, and Holly Folly, and picked up the blush in Sur (which can double up as an eyeshadow as well). MAC's worked on their powder formulas so that all their newer eyeshadows and blushes, regardless of finish, are super-smooth, silky soft, and beautifully pigmented. They used to have issues with some of their powders; many mattes and satins were hard to blend out or build-up or would be too stiff in the pan, so I'm glad they decided to re-formulate. I hope they extend these new formulas to all their older powder products, too. I also picked up three shades of their Versicolour Varnish in Peach Aflush, Stuck in Love, and Bitten Babe. I used to be very indifferent to the Korean stained lip trend but I guess I've been watching too many K-dramas because now I'm like, "Oooh, that's pretty."
