MAC's Semi-Precious collection sees the release of three new and limited edition shades of Mineralize Blush, of which I picked up two. The Mineralize products in the Semi-Precious collection feature the use of four new finely milled gems to bring new dimension: bronzite (golden-bronze), pyrite (golden), lepidolite (lilac), and tourmaline (black). They are housed in regular black packaging with clear lids. Each Mineralize Skinfinish contains 3.2 grams of product and retails for $27.50.

Warmth of Coral and Feeling Flush

Warmth of Coral is a blend of coral, peach, and orange. When mixed and applied, it looks like a warm orangey-peach. It doesn't have much of a shimmer or metallic sheen in it like most Mineralize Blushes. I'd say it has more of a satin finish, because it's not completely flat (like in mattes). As the name implies, this blush is a very warm shade, and thusly will work best on warmer undertones. It has good pigmentation, but I find that it works best on pale to light-medium skintones, since it has a tendency to blend out too much. You'd have to really pile it on to show up well on darker skintones.

Feeling Flush is a blend of fuchsia, pink, and plum brown. When mixed and applied, it looks like a softened fuchsia pink with slight cool undertones. Like Warmth of Coral, it has more of a satin finish and sheen than regular Mineralize Blushes. The pigmentation is excellent, but because of the brightness of the shade, it may overwhelm lighter skintones, and thusly is best used on light-medium to dark skintones. It also leans slightly cool, so it will suit cooler undertones best.

Given the look and feel of the other Mineralize products from Semi-Precious, these Mineralize Blushes really surprised me with the texture and finish, which are both phenomenal. They both have a soft satin sheen as opposed to the frosty (sometimes gritty) finishes in many Mineralize Blushes. They are finely milled, so they go on very evenly and blend very well on skin. Both blushes have great pigmentation, but Feeling Flush has better colour pay-off, if only because it is a brighter shade. Definitely worth having a look if you like these shades, because the texture is gorgeous, just soft, smooth, and silky.

  2. Awesome! I really like these blushes; they're really smooth and blendable with great colour pay-off. Feeling Flush was the first one to sell out at counters! :)
