MAC Fall Colour: Lipglasses

MAC released a new collection yesterday called Fall Colour, featuring artist Cindy Sherman in three distinct looks on the promotional displays. Fall Colour is a very large collection with the release of 48 products, and is the third collection to launch in September (along with Posh Paradise and Styledriven). There are four shades of Lipglass released with this launch, but I will only be reviewing three (the fourth one is C-Thru, which is permanent at all locations). Lipglasses are relatively sticky, being tackier than Cremesheen Glasses or Plushglasses, but less tacky than the Pro Longwear Lipglasses. As a result, they do wear for a good three to four hours before fading. Each Lipglass comes in regular black packaging, contains 4.8 grams, and retails for $17.50. They are vanilla-scented but taste-free, and are applicable for the Back To MAC recycling program at MAC Stores only (not partnered locations).

Pink Fade, Orange Tempera, and Good Times

Pink Fade is a pale milky cool-toned pink. It is a new and limited edition shade. It has mostly opaque colour coverage. The milkiness of the shade can emphasize lip lines, though it does apply evenly. It is a lighter than Viva Glam Gaga, and milkier and cooler than Cultured.

Orange Tempera is a light milky peach. It is a new and limited edition shade. It has mostly opaque colour coverage. The milkiness of the shade can emphasize lip lines, though it does apply evenly. It is more orange than Florabundance, and milkier than Enchantress.

Good Times is a light milky mauve. It is a re-promoted shade from last month's MAC Me Over collection, and is limited edition. It has mostly opaque colour coverage. The milkiness of the shade can emphasize lip lines, though it does apply evenly. It is lighter and more pink than Spite.

None of these Lipglasses are particularly unique or exciting, but they do apply surprisingly smoothly and evenly, given the stickier and thicker texture of Lipglasses. They all have a milky/creamy quality to them that can emphasize lip lines, but a good lip balm underneath can easily fix that. Plus, the opaque colour coverage of these three shades will also hide some of the imperfections on the lip. I'm kind of disappointed that all the shades are so light and milky; I felt like there should've been some more contrast between the Lipglass shades. I'm really surprised they re-promoted Good Times so soon after its initial launch with MAC Me Over just last month. These will, however, appeal to those who like wearing a lighter or nude lip look.
