This week's Friday Five:
- What's your favourite ice cream topping? Chopped peanuts. I can do without chocolate syrup, whipped cream, maraschino cherries, sprinkles... but chopped peanuts changes the whole game for me. It's the saltiness and the crunchy texture... just makes ice cream so damn delightful!
- What's your favourite pizza topping? After much thought, I have decided it's Italian sausage. Just so salty with a hint of spice... for me, it ends up being more satisfying than pepperoni. Like, Italian sausage on a white pizza with extra cheese? Oh, god, I die.
- What's your favourite thing to sprinkle cocoa powder on? A latte or a hot chocolate, though to be perfectly honest, I rarely sprinkle cocoa powder on anything.
- What's your favourite thing to put whipped cream on? I would say pumpkin pie. I don't eat it often (it's really only around on Thanksgiving), maybe once every couple years, if that. But whipped cream makes pumpkin pie infinitely better. It tempers the spicy sweetness and makes it just ridiculously addictive.
- What do you like to put upon a cracker? Cheddar cheese, preferably old, or Philadelphia Whipped Cream Cheese in Chives. Oh, man. You dip a Ritz cracker into that, it's a done deal — the whole box will be gone, along with the entire tub of cream cheese.
I discovered the Italian hot sausage trick a long time ago. (Hmmmm, that sounds dirty!) But you're right, it's 100x better than a regular pepperoni.
ReplyDeleteI love hot fudge on ice cream and don't care for cocoa powder or whipped cream either.
LOL! There's no way to say that without it sounding dirty, actually...
ReplyDeleteI don't care for whipped cream at all, really. Even when it comes with my pie/cake/crepe/waffle/what have you, I always take it off. I find that it hinders the flavour of most desserts, which is why it's good on pumpkin pie, which usually has a much stronger spice flavour. :) When I get a sundae, fudge is good... but I usually like my ice cream without it. Like, even at McDonald's, I'd rather get a cone than a sundae. Weird?
