MAC released a new collection today, called MAC, Naturally. It features 23 products in total, 18 of which are limited edition. There are five new and limited edition shades of Mineralize Eyeshadow featured in this collection. MAC's Mineralize Eyeshadows generally have a more frosted, metallic finish. Each Mineralize Eyeshadow comes in regular black packaging, contains 2.2 grams of product, and retails for $24.

Cloudy Afternoon, Daylight, In The Sun, Summer Haze, and Twilight Falls
Cloudy Afternoon is a light silvered grey with green, pink, white, brown, and blue veining. When swirled together, it looks like a light silvered taupe with cool sage green undertones in a frosted finish. It has a pretty effect, as it can look more silver or brown with green or blue undertones in different lighting. The texture is soft and smooth, and it has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more grey than Filament, and more silver than Vex.Daylight is a light-medium peachy pink with blue-violet veining. When swirled together, it looks like a light-medium pinked lavender in a frosted finish. The texture is soft and smooth, and it has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more purple than Seedy Pearl, and more pink than Crystal. In The Sun is a medium warm gold with bronze and deep red veining. When swirled together, it looks like a medium copper with gold sparkle in a frosted finish. The texture is slightly gritty due to the larger glitter used in this so there is some fall-out, but it does apply evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is less pink than Mythology, and lighter and much less intense than Coppering.Summer Haze is a pale cream with bronze veining. When swirled together, it looks like a light champagne beige in a metallic finish. The texture is silky soft and smooth, and it has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is less yellow than Ricepaper, less pink than All That Glitters, and darker than Dazzlelight.Twilight Falls is a dark mauve with dark brown and bronze veining. When swirled together, it looks like a dark cool brown in a metallic finish. The texture is soft and smooth, and it has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more brown than Satin Taupe, and much darker than Haux.
I thought MAC did a great job with the Mineralize Eyeshadows in this collection. Despite In The Sun having some fall-out issues, all five shades go on very well, with great colour pay-off. You can wet these to make them look more intense and metallic, but they go on quite pigmented dry. Daylight and Cloudy Afternoon seem to be the more unique shades of the bunch, and Summer Haze seemed to go on the smoothest, but they are all lovely. Provided that you don't already have similar colours, these are definitely worth looking at if you're a fan of Mineralize or frosted eyeshadows.
Thanks for reviewing these Denise. I picked up In the Sun and Twilight Falls when I was at the Pro Store in New York. I was quite happy to see them being sold ahead of time :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any blushes but after reading your review I'm a little bit regretful though I do have way too many blushes. Actually started my second palette with Rhubarb ;)
Hey, Fieran! Yeah, the Pro Store usually has a soft launch ahead of the other stores. :) It's why Pro members can buy the products online about a week in advance of the launch. :)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, if you still have a chance, I totally think you should pick up the Early Morning blush. I think it'd look fantastic on you! :D Though Rhubarb is also a gorgeous colour -- it's definitely one of my fave bright blushes!
