Yes, I've changed my nail polish again this week because I obviously have nail OCD. Anyway, my nails had been getting a little too long for my liking, so I cut them all short and what better length to show off a ridiculously bright colour? Yes, this is the third colour I have tried from Butter London's Spring/Summer 2012 collection (apparently, I have Butter London fever!). Slapper is a bright medium teal in a cream finish. It has the classic formula that Butter London is known for: smooth application, even flow, and great pigmentation — it was nearly opaque in one coat. I thought this would be almost exactly the same as OPI's Fly, but it looks more like Fly mixed in with China Glaze's Four Leaf Clover. If you love your teals, then this is a great option, but I do think that there are a lot of dupes out there of similar quality for cheaper. That aside, I'm sort of getting bored of the bright turquoise shades. Don't get me wrong, I love my blue and green polishes, but it seems every single brand has released a bright teal recently, no?

ReplyDeleteHave you heard of a-england nail polishes? I think llawroe sells them (and a-england's site of course). I recently picked up two bottles and I really like the colours + texture.

DeleteYes, I have heard of a-england, but I got distracted with Models Own and Ozotic nail polishes, lol! I will definitely give them a try very, very soon... I've already got my eyes on St. George, Dragon, Ascalon, and Bridal Veil. ;) Which colours did you end up getting?!
Initially I got Camelot and King Arthur -- a shiny black colour and a cool gunmetal colour. Recently I placed an order via e-mail to them asking or order the new collection. Strangely it was all 4 shades that you just mentioned :) We do have similar tastes.

DeleteWallis is SUCH a good first Butter London colour! I'm so glad they decided to make that one permanent! AND YES TO JULEP! They need to start selling their stuff in stores. They would do soooo well.

Turquoise is definitely my happy colour! BUT, when it comes to cosmetics, I do like to try new shades... I always go back to blues and greens, though. ;)
DeleteI do think if you don't have a bright turquoise, that Slapper is worth getting, especially now seeing that Dior Nirvana isn't as bright as it looked in the promos! You NEED both.
That color is SOOOO nice! I love it! You definitely inspire me to change my polish more often! HAHA! I usually change my polish after 2 weeks (i know, gross!) but i'm so lazy! It's kinda ironic because I love nail polish and keep buying them but never wear them! UGH! Bought a few orlys this week and will be posting about it soon!!
