MAC will be releasing a new two-part collection tomorrow. One part is called Shop MAC, and the other part is called Cook MAC. Shop MAC includes 17 products, and Cook MAC includes 15 products. Shop MAC will see the release of three new and limited edition eyeshadow quad palettes. They come in regular black packaging with secondary cardboard packaging in bright pink with a yellow and teal design surrounding the MAC logo. Each palette contains a total of 5.6 grams of product, and retails for $45.
Call Me Bubbles, Fresh Daily, Full of Flavour, and Brash
Call Me Bubbles is a light beige with subtle shimmer-sheen in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is smooth, silky, and easily blendable. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is similar to Shroom.Fresh Daily is a medium tangerine orange with orange-gold shimmer-sheen in a Frost finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is smooth, silky, and easily blendable. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more orange than Paradisco, and softer than Rule.Full of Flavour is a medium bright coral-pink in a Matte finish. The texture is smooth, soft, silky, and easily blendable. It has a softer, more powdery feel that is similar to the Matte2 finish. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is similar to Free To Be.Brash is a medium-dark orange-copper in a Veluxe Pearl finish. It is a re-promoted shade from 2008's Cult of Cherry collection, and is limited edition. The texture is smooth, soft, buttery, silky, and easily blendable. It has intense pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is less red than Coppering.
This palette definitely has the best overall textures of the three palettes in this collection. There are no duds in this palette, and none of the shades are dry or stiff or remotely hard to work with. In fact, this might be the best eyeshadow palette (in terms of formulation) that MAC has released in the past couple years. The colours aren't the most unique in this palette (and are, in fact, quite dupeable from MAC's permanent range), but they work gorgeously together. If you like bright orange/coral shades, this palette is a must-have.
Mmmmmmmmakeup pornnnn! This is definitely my favourite of the three palettes.
ReplyDeleteMine, too. :) I'm kinda bummed that they didn't do limited edition packaging for this, though. I hate it when companies just do the SECONDARY packaging, 'cause I'm not going to keep a piece of cardboard, you know?
DeleteI checked out the collection today! I like some of the skinny lip glosses (forget what they're called) and one of the tinted lip balms (the bright red pot) but I didn't like the way it smelled fruity. And I didn't even look at the shadows, to be honest. I like the look of this quad but you know I wouldn't wear it and it'd waste away with my other 50 shadows.
ReplyDeleteLOL, true, you do have a lot of eyeshadows to work through. :P (I am really one to talk...) The skinny lippies are called Kissable Lip Colour (it's more of a liquid lipstick), and I actually like the fruity scent of the Tendertones... but I suppose it's really personal preference. The nail polish colours are really fun, too. :)
