MAC will be releasing a new two-part collection tomorrow. One part is called Shop MAC, and the other part is called Cook MAC. Shop MAC includes 17 products, and Cook MAC includes 15 products. Shop MAC will see the release of three new and limited edition eyeshadow quad palettes. They come in regular black packaging with secondary cardboard packaging in bright pink with a yellow and teal design surrounding the MAC logo. Each palette contains a total of 5.6 grams of product, and retails for $45.
Sugar Snack, Hypnotizing, Power Boosted, and Shop & Drop
Sugar Snack is a light warm pink in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is smooth, silky, and easily blendable. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. (It doesn't look that way because the colour blends in with my skintone.) It is darker and warmer than Yogurt.Hypnotizing is a medium brown-mauve in a Frost finish. This is a re-promoted shade from 2009's Love Lace collection, and is limited edition. The texture is smooth, almost buttery, silky, and easily blendable. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is lighter than Satin Taupe, and more grey than Sable.Power Boosted is a medium-dark fuchsia violet in a Veluxe Pearl finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is smooth, silky, and easily blendable. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. I was surprised this has a Veluxe Pearl finish, because it seems to be a little drier and sheerer than the typical formula. It is darker than Stars 'N' Rockets, and more violet than Hepcat.Shop & Drop is a blackened navy-violet with subtle shimmer-sheen in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is smooth, silky, and easily blendable. It is slightly dry, but has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker than Contrast, and more purple than Nehru.
Overall, a really nice palette. There were no duds, and there is a nice variety of shades (light to dark, and warm to cool) and textures (matte to metallic) that can be used separately with other colours or together to create a really nice look. Usually MAC's pre-made palettes have one or two shades that are a miss, so it was a great surprise to see such good quality throughout. If you're a fan of purple shades, this is worth checking out.
I really like this one :) I think I'm a sucker for blues and recently I've been hunting for some more purple shades.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reviewing this. I think it comes out next month in this corner of the world. Looking forward now!
