MAC released a new collection featuring the designs of Vera Neumann last Thursday, called MAC Vera. This collection features 19 products, 10 of which are new and limited edition, 8 of which are re-promotes (7 of which are going to be made permanent), and one of which is permanent. MAC Vera features seven re-promoted shades of Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners, which will become apart of the permanent range. Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners are sharpenable eye pencils that have a "soft, smooth, creamy formula" that are long-wearing and smudge-proof, and touted to provide "rich, luxurious colour with a touch of shimmer and sparkle." Each Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner comes in regular black packaging, contains 1.2 grams of product, and retails for $18.

Designer Purple, Lord It Up, Black Line, Black Swan, Industrial, Petrol Blue, and Undercurrent

Designer Purple is a medium-dark brightened violet with purple and silver shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Art Supplies collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has intense pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. There are no dupes in MAC's permanent eye pencil range.

Lord It Up is a medium-dark bronze-brown with gold and bronze shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Tartan Tale collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has intense pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more golden than Teddy.

Black Line is a dark olive-black with antique gold shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Art Supplies collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has intense pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker than Buried Treasure.

Black Swan is a dark blue-black with silver and blue shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Tartan Tale collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has intense pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. There are no dupes in MAC's permanent eye pencil range.

Industrial is a medium grey-blue with silver shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Art Supplies collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on slightly patchy and uneven, but it has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. There are no dupes in MAC's permanent eye pencil range.

Petrol Blue is a dark brightened navy blue with blue shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Art Supplies collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has intense pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is darker than Prussian.

Undercurrent is a medium-dark brightened blue-teal with gold, green, and teal shimmer. It is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Art Supplies collection, and is now permanent. It has a soft and creamy texture. It goes on slightly patchy and uneven, but it has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. There are no dupes in MAC's permanent eye pencil range.

Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners are easily my favourite eye pencil formula from MAC — soft, creamy, smooth, intense, rich, long-wearing, budge-proof. They glide on effortlessly and beautifully, and the finish is gorgeously multi-faceted and shimmery. You can smudge it when it's freshly applied, but once it sets, it does not move. Seriously, I have worn these on my lower lash line for over 12 hours, and it does not smudge or budge. I'm not even a regular eye pencil user, preferring liquid eye liner on a day-to-day basis, but I've been obsessed with these since their initial launch. These were highly coveted the two previous times they were released, and after much whining and begging from the general public, MAC has finally made these permanent (!). These really fill the gap in what was missing from MAC's eye liner range in terms of texture and shades. If you like metallic or shimmery eye pencils, these are absolute must-haves.

  1. These are some of the best liners ever. I have a few of them but I love Black Swan the most. I have read that Black Line is similar to Buried Treasure so I didn't get it. Maybe I should this time ;)

    1. I think my favourite is actually Black Line! And I totally forgot about Buried Treasure! Thanks for bringing it up -- I've changed the post to include that as a dupe. :) For me, it's not so much the colours as it is the formula of these pencils. OH GOD, they're like BUTTER!

    1. Undercurrent is my second favourite (after Black Line). You need to see it in person -- it's unreal! And they actually go on THAT pigmented. I swear to you.

      LOL, I try. ;)

    1. They're SO EASY to use. If you still want to use black, just use it on the top lid and use the coloured pencil on the bottom. It's the easiest way to incorporate coloured liners. I use it this way 'cause I always use black liquid eyeliner on my top lid. It adds a really nice pop of colour. :)

      And yes, I am. :D
