Cooking Session: White Artichoke and Supreme Pizzas

on
Thursday, September 13, 2012
When Janetta and I decided to have our baking session, we also decided to make pizza for dinner since I was going to be at her house, anyway. She made the dough before we starting making the lemon squares, and then we went to the grocery store to get our toppings while waiting for the squares to set. And then it was pizza party time!

Both of them were gloriously epic. The crust turned out really nicely; not too thick, but substantial enough to hold all of our toppings, and not too crisp or too chewy. And our topping combos worked beautifully together (obviously, we were inspired by my recent trip to Artichoke Pizza!). The key is adding mozzarella as a base ("the glue") and adding another layer of mozzarella on top ("the sealant"). Because you can never have too much cheese.

  1. OMG, my fingers look SOOOOOO creepy.
    Whoohoo, double jointed-ness!

& yes, the pizzas were glorious. If we weren't rushing so much they would have been even more so!! :) Hope you had fun!

    1. LOL, MONSTER HANDS.

I think they were great as they were. :) I brought them for lunch today, and I am happy to report that they are still glorious when eaten cold. :D Next time, we'll think up of different toppings. And, you know, NOT forget to pick up toppings during our first TWO trips to the supermarket. :P

  2. They look amazing!! I'm going to try to make pizza dough from scratch soon. I'm terrible with doughs though.

    1. Dough from scratch is SO GOOD. So worth the work! It's a lot easier to make if you have an electric mixer. :)
