Last Thursday, MAC released their collaboration with Sharon and Kelly Osbourne. The collection is separated into two parts, one for Sharon and one for Kelly. The entire collection features a total of 26 products — 13 products for each Sharon and Kelly — of which 19 are new and limited edition, four are re-promotes, and three are permanent. Sharon Osbourne will see the release of one new and limited edition Eyeshadow Palette, which contains four shades. It comes in a special edition red square compact with a clear lid and Sharon's signature in lavender, as well as a matching secondary cardstock box. Each Eyeshadow Palette contains a total of 5.6 grams of product, and retails for $52.50.
Top: Sweet Eyes and Sexy Eyes
Bottom: Femme Fatale and Embark
Sweet Eyes, Sexy Eyes, Femme Fatale, and Embark
Sweet Eyes is a light warm peachy beige in a Veluxe Pearl finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, almost buttery texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more peach than Dazzlelight, lighter and less peach than Jest, and lighter and less pinked than Naked Lunch.
Sexy Eyes is a medium peachy copper in a Veluxe Pearl finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, almost buttery texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more brown than Expensive Pink, darker and more copper than All That Glitters, and darker and less gold than Honey Lust.
Femme Fatale is a medium-dark warm peachy brown with yellow undertones and soft gold micro-shimmer in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, silky texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is less orange than Texture, darker than Soft Brown, and more peach than Saddle.
Embark is a dark reddened brown in a Matte finish. This is a permanent shade. It has a soft, silky texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is less plum than Folie, lighter and more reddened than Mystery, and darker than Swiss Chocolate.
A truly beautiful warm-toned neutral quad from MAC. I like that they listened to their fans' complaints about past quads and finally upped their shadow palette game; all four shades from Duchess have amazing smooth, pigmented formulas and execute beautifully, easily blendable and buildable. Even the Embark in this quad seems to be smoother and more finely-milled than its permanent version. I also like that there are a variety of finishes in this quad, so they all work just as well together to create truly dimensional eye looks as they do separately. That having been said, there are a ton of palettes like this out there and it's very likely that you already have dupes of these shades, but if you're on the market for a gorgeous warm neutral palette, this one is definitely worth looking at.
LOL! I'm pretty indifferent about the packaging, but I can see people not liking it. :P Still, this is a stunning palette with amaaaaaazing textures.
If you like these shades, you can always build your own MAC palette with Jest, Expensive Pink, Texture, and Embark. It'll get you a really similar look. :)
Another nice one! You know, I think my LORAC Pro palette has very similar shades to all four here. Not the same but close enough. Freaking love that palette.
I agree -- MAC hit it out of the park with this collection. Pleasantly surprised, 'cause I had my doubts when they announced they were collaborating with the Osbournes.
Everyone's been telling me how great the LORAC Pro palette is, but I don't know where to get my hands on it! :(
