Haha, why do you hate Valentine's Day? For me, it's an excuse to have a nice dinner and exchange some gifts! :D It's like Christmas in February! Pretty flowers are a nice bonus, though. ;) Funny, I never really celebrated Valentine's until Shawn...
LOL, I hate a lot of things, too... And while I don't hate her, I'm totally indifferent to Nicki Minaj. :P
Those flowers are gorgeous. The bf got me 15 red roses and they were left outside my apartment (he's traveling) as I had gone to the gym. It was nice to come home all stinky and see roses :)
I completely agree with you, Denise. It is a nice excuse to have dinner and just...celebrate for the fun of it. A lot of people don't like Valentine's day as they feel it's a manufactured thing, but I think life's so short and I'll take any excuse to treat my loved ones extra special some days of the year...e.g. Mother's Day, Father's Day, Children's Day, etc.
Awww, see, that's so cute! I totally wasn't expecting flowers, especially being delivered to my house! It was a great surprise first thing after I woke up! :D I used to be totally indifferent to Valentine's, but it's kind of nice when you decide to celebrate it. :) I remember when I was single one year and had gotten a fat commission pay cheque from Lancome and I decided to buy myself a pair of Tiffany heart earrings for myself on Valentine's Day. :)
TOTALLY. Like, we have a new statutory holiday in Ontario called Family Day and it's almost as if the government was like, "Okay, there's no stat holiday from Christmas until Easter, guys. We need one in between." LOL. I can't complain, though, 'cause I get a long weekend! :)
Tiffany heart earrings are awesome. I've been single most of my life until I met the bf 4 years ago. Before that I went shopping on V-day and maybe bought myself a new book or something.
Haha, thanks, Liz! You know what the secret is? No baby's breath. That's what I realized. Those little white weeds make bouquets so much uglier... Shawn knows my favourite flower is the dahlia, and he was like, "This was the only one that had a dahlia in it..." Haha, cute.

DeleteHehe, long weekends are always good.
I'm telling you, Valentine's is such a good excuse to buy yourself or someone else a gift after Christmas... and your birthday... ;)
DeleteAw, so cute!
ReplyDeleteDid you guys go for dins?
Haha, yep, just posted about it! :)
DeleteGorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Sean has good taste. I think this is the only bouquet I saw this year that I didn't feel like hurling all over!
