Tokyo 2023 Travel Log: Day 4 — Korean-Style Macarons from Over Macaron

While exploring Harajuku, we discovered a little pocket of Korean food shops that was ram-jammed with people. The moment I went in, I wanted to walk straight back out, but I peeped a shop that specialized in Korean-style macarons and had to check it out. (Also because I had to make up for the fact that I didn't get any of these treats while I was actually in Korea.)

Clockwise from left: Pistachio and raspberry, strawberry and raspberry, salted caramel, and crème brûlée

I decided on pistachio and raspberry, strawberry and raspberry, salted caramel, and crème brûlée. All four were amazing, and exactly as expected in texture and flavours. The meringue cookies had a crisp exterior with a good chewy interior, and the cream centres were thick and rich. My personal favourite actually ended up being the pistachio and raspberry — the earthy nuttiness of the pistachio pairs perfectly with tart raspberry jam. A most delightful afternoon pick-me-up!
