So, remember that whole thing where I wanted to do a series of blog posts aptly named Sandwich Series? Wherein I post about all the sandwiches I eat at home because I don't cook (and refuse to learn)? That I was going to do every week? No? Well, it's going a lot slower than I thought it would be, but I haven't forgotten, okay?

As it's getting colder outside, I was craving a hot sandwich. There are only so many cucumber and avocado sandwiches I can eat, you know? So, I thought, yes, grilled cheese! I grabbed my rye bread and my butter (well, margarine) and my cheddar cheese. I got my pan out and started buttering the bread as it was heating up on the stove... and then I remembered that I had some turkey cold cuts in the fridge, and thought I might as well use it up before it expires. Can't waste the meat! So I pan-fried the turkey first, set it aside, and then went on to put my buttered bread slices in the pan. I put the turkey on the bread, added the cheese, and then plopped the other pan-fried bread slice on top (to seal in the heat so the cheese would melt, obvs). I think next time, I'm going to add some cayenne pepper for a little kick, but otherwise, it is one fine sandwich! And it didn't take more than seven minutes. Of course, this whole exercise has made me realize that my household is in severe need of bacon...

So, remember that whole thing where I wanted to do a series of blog posts aptly named Sandwich Series? Wherein I post about all the sandwiches I eat at home because I don't cook (and refuse to learn)? That I was going to do every week? Yeah, so that sort of failed because I may have forgotten about it... But, I remembered today! I remembered today, damn it.

I was craving a meatball hero, but seeing as I am obviously not going to make my own meatballs, I sort of made a lazy, makeshift version for lunch today. I had some frozen Italian meatballs, so I nuked several of those in the microwave, then took some marinara pasta sauce (from a jar, obviously, not homemade — don't be ridiculous) and heated that up in the microwave, and coated the meatballs in the sauce. Then, I toasted one of those Italian burger buns 'cause that's all I had, buttered it and melted some sliced mozzarella (not the processed crap, though!) on it, and then put my marinated meatballs on it. Finally, I added a sprinkle of salt, a dash of oregano, and a ton of parmesan cheese. This was definitely one of my more complicated sandwich assemblies, guys. And it was devoured in about two minutes.

As many of you will know by now, I have a very limited cooking ability. So basically, I eat a lot of sandwiches. I usually only post photos of what I eat when I'm dining out, but I figure, why not showcase what I eat the most? So, I'm going to do a mini series of posts, aptly named, "Sandwich Series." Which means I will post a different sandwich every week. That is, until I get really sick of sandwiches. Which could be in about two months or something. (No, I doubt it. I love sandwiches.)

I've been sort of obsessed with this sandwich lately. It's basically dill cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel with sliced cucumbers. (For those who haven't had the pleasure of eating an everything bagel, it has sesame seeds, poppy seeds, onion, and garlic. It gives you dragon breath, but it's so damn worth it. I am partial to the Dempster's brand.) I sprinkle some salt and lots of dill on top because dill is pretty much my favourite herb of all time. This is probably the easiest sandwich I make, with a total preparation and assembly time of three minutes. Sometimes, if I'm feeling wild, I'll replace the cucumber with tomato slices. Or, if I'm feeling extra fattening, I'll use avocado. But, yeah, you get the jist. Simple but just ridiculously good. And addictive. Seriously, I eat two of these per sitting.
